1. Kevin Byard’s interception

The Mayor of Murfreesboro was up to his usual ball-hawking self in the season opener.

Byard made arguably the most impressive interception of his young career on Sunday, as he baited Baker Mayfield into a throw that he surely wishes he had back.

For the majority of the game, Byard had been helping the cornerbacks by shadowing Odell Beckham Jr over the top. The Titans safety gave Mayfield a similar look pre-snap.

However, once the ball was snapped Byard disguised his coverage by dropping down, which left OBJ on an apparent one-on-one with cornerback Adoree’ Jackson.

Once Beckham seemingly broke free, the mayor of Murfreesboro flipped his hips and went into a trail technique as he read the quarterback’s eyes the entire way. Mayfield zipped the ball towards the direction of OBJ, only to have it snatched away by the former MTSU standout at the last second for a game-changing play.

Titans fans should expect plenty more of this from No. 31 all season.
