35. . . Previous: 11th. Tennessee Titans. 5. team

Is there some bias in this pick. Maybe, but based off of what we have actually seen this is what the last five teams have done through a less positive lens:

-Ravens beat a team that was actively trying to lose, so much so that players asked to be traded after the game.

-Vikings beat a team in a game where their QB didn’t have to throw the ball more than 10 times, which is unsustainable.

-Dallas Cowboys had a back and forth game with the New York Giants, a team that doesn’t really have much talent outside of Barkley who didn’t get enough carries.

-Eagles really struggled against the Washington Redskins who were missing their best offensive player in Trent Williams and they benched Adrian Peterson.

-Chargers have no homefield advantage and they barely beat a Colts team and they only have themselves to blame for it being that close thanks to a redzone interception and a missed tackle that led directly to the TD the tied the game.

So when I say that the Tennessee Titans went into the house of the team that many crowned as AFC North favorites, beat them in every phase of the game and turned Odell Beckham and Baker Mayfield into average players (at best), you better believe that they have every right to be in the top-5.

The Titans have a pedigree of winning now. In the Jon Robinson era the Titans are 28-21 despite the team being 5-27 in the two years before that, that is true progress that has been sustainable. When you look even further, there is a lot of optimism that this is the best Titans team in over a decade.

Take a step back and think about who has a more consistent resume and a more impressive Week 1 than the Tennessee Titans. If you can think of more than four names you are going to have to give me a better excuse than, “Well Marcus Mari-” uh uh, nope, you don’t get to say that after Mariota scored 3 TDs and looked miles ahead of your boy king Baker Mayfield.
