3. Indianapolis Colts (0-1)

Week 1 ranking: No. 3 (No change)

Things were looking really bad for the Indianapolis Colts in their Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, but Indy was able to climb out of a 24-9 third quarter hole to force overtime against LA.

Unfortunately for the Colts, the Chargers would end up winning the game 30-24 after running back Austin Ekeler found paydirt from seven yards out in OT. It was a tough loss for the Colts to swallow after making such a valiant comeback.

The good news for Indy is that running back Marlon Mack dominated (24 carries, 174 yards, 1 TD), wide receiver T.Y. Hilton didn’t really lose a step without Andrew Luck (8 catches, 87 yards, 2 TD), and Jacoby Brissett (21-of-27, 190 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT) looked good in his 2019 debut.

With a solid defense and an offense still capable of scoring points, this Colts team isn’t as bad as everyone is making them out to be, and certainly not worse than the Jags. Granted, they simply aren’t the same team without Luck on the field, however they are far from bottom-feeders.

Indy gets the a stiff challenge on the road against the first place Tennessee Titans in Week 2 in a matchup that could flip the AFC South in a hurry if the Colts can get a win.
