Weeks 2 and 13: Indianapolis Colts

Remember a few weeks ago when Andrew Luck was almost a given to come into Tennessee in Week 2 and make life hell for Titans fans…again?

Well, as you may have heard Andrew Luck has retired and Jacoby Brissett has taken the reigns.

Brissett is a solid QB and has always put up alright stats, but it is alright to say that he hasn’t proven himself to be a franchise QB at this point in his career. While he may have outstanding leadership, the fact remains that he isn’t going to elevate that roster to the heights they would have seen with roster.

Colts fans are stanning so hard for guys like Eric Ebron, Mo Alie-Cox and Jack Doyle to be the best trio of TEs that the league has ever seen. The problem is that Ebron has only really every produced at a high level with Luck, MAC is unproven and Doyle is solid but nothing spectacular.

On the outside, the Colts have now lost two WRs to season ending injuries in Daurice Fountain and now Devin Funchess:

Going to the OL, Bosa and Ingram both finished the game with sacks and after Cameron Wake‘s Week 1, you have to like his odds of being a factor especially in Week 2 at home.

Marlon Mack looks good and Malik Hooker (one of my favorite DBs coming out of college over the last decade) had a great interception yesterday. But given what we saw from the Titans defense yesterday should a team that really held Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham, David Njoku, and Nick Chubb to one big play be that concerned about the Colts roster?

I’m not saying it won’t be a challenge because the Colts always play the Titans tough, but after an overtime loss in Week 1 the Colts are going to have to come from L.A. to Indy and then to Nashville in just under a week. That is going to be a tough thing to do and you have to like the Titans.
