Weeks 15 and 17: Houston Texans

So, lets talk about the Houston Texans and we can start with the offensive line.

If everyone is as bad as they were last year on that offensive line, but if Laremy Tunsil is a stud that locks down every single EDGE in the NFL that means that one of the five positions on the offensive line has been vastly improved.

Still, that is just 20% of the offensive line. So even if Tunsil leads the Houston OL to that improvement, then Watson is going to get sacked 50 times (80% of his 2018 total of 62). That number still would have been 4th worst in the NFL last year.

I mean, I understand that these numbers don’t always carry over from year to year, but trends are important. In the NFL, only four players have been sacked more than Watson since he entered the NFL and all of those players played 9 or more games than he did.

There is no incentive for the Texans to tank at the end of the season if all of that does happen, so the Titans miss out on that chance but still there are so many holes on that roster and they just lost their best run defender in Jadeveon Clowney.

Maybe tonight’s game vs the New Orleans Saints will change my mind, but right now I just don’t see the Texans as any sort of real threat to the Tennessee Titans. Yes, they have a productive QB, maybe the best WR in the NFL and J.J. Watt, but what else do they have?
