Week 10: Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City came away from Jacksonville with a 40-26 win, but it definitely took its toll on that team.

For starters, it appears like Tyreek Hill may end up on injured reserve after a rare injury where the clavicle goes into the sternum in what sounds like an incredibly painful process. While it doesn’t seem like he will need surgery, even the non-surgical recovery takes a while.

If the Chiefs have a solid lead in the division by Week 10, the I would expect them to let Hill rest and recover for as long as they can. Their goal is a Super Bowl, not a playoff berth.

Speaking of those goals, they almost took a huge hit when Patrick Mahomes actually had to leave the game for a little bit because of what turned out to be an ankle issue. I don’t think he will be hobbled or anything going forward, but that was dangerous for the young MVP.

The Chiefs are going to be a hard out for anyone, but not as hard as they could be thanks to a pretty bad defense. Guys like Chris Jones and Frank Clark are scary, but against the Jaguars last week they had a combined 2 tackles and 1 QB hit. Surprising for a pair that finished last year with 20+ sacks.

A lot has to be decided, but the Chiefs stand between the Titans and their bye week, so any trick plays Tennessee has will be up for grabs. Also, there might be some “trap game” qualities to the Titans since the this game will come after back to back games vs the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings, and it will start a road trip that sees KC play the Chargers before a bye week of their own in Week 12.
