O-line will be fine

The Titans facing that Browns pass-rush without Taylor Lewan and an injured Kevin Pamphile was a scary proposition. However, the Titans’ O-line came to play on Sunday, and despite letting up four sacks, it was an overall impressive showing for the group upfront.

Marcus Mariota had time to throw the football, and Derrick Henry ended up averaging 4.4 yards per carry and found several lanes to run through after a slow start to the game. Not to mention, his 75-yard touchdown reception was the result of great blocking upfront.

Dennis Kelly is a top-notch replacement for Lewan, and even Jamil Douglas played solid in relief of Pamphile. It looks like the Titans will have no issue weathering the storm until their star left tackle and starting right guard return.

A.J. Brown is as advertised

While we already spoke about Brown’s 47-yard reception being mostly a result of great play-calling by the OC, his second catch was a perfect example of what this rookie can do on a football field.

Brown caught a Mariota pass near the first down line and then exploded across the field to pickup additional yardage that led to a 51-yard reception. On his way there, Brown stiff-armed a defender, showed some nice cutback moves, and nearly dragged a few Browns defenders with him for even more yardage.

Brown showed his great hands, strength, physicality, and his ability to explode after the catch. Opposing cornerbacks are going to have a tough time taking Brown down in the open field this season.
