Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons both shared their thoughts after the Week 1 win against the Cleveland Browns.

Two players who were not on the field, left tackle Taylor Lewan and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, reacted to the Tennessee Titans’ blowout victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 1.

Lewan is suspended for the first four games of 2019 after testing positive for the banned substance, Ostarine. There was some concern that the Titans’ offensive line wouldn’t be able to hold up without him, but the group upfront did just fine in his absence.

Here’s what Lewan had to say after having to watch the game from home.

As solid as the Titans’ O-line played in Week 1, Titans fans have to be giddy at the idea of Lewan returning to give that group upfront a boost. This team’s O-line has the chance to be something truly special in 2019.

Simmons, who started the year on the NFI list after the team decided not to add him to the initial 53-man roster, shared his thoughts on Twitter after watching his teammates completely derail the Browns hype train.

A great way to start the season indeed, Mr. Simmons.

The Titans defense looks like a championship-caliber squad, and I have zero hesitation in making that statement. To hold this Browns offense to just 13 points and make Baker Mayfield look like a rookie all over again was simply impressive to watch.

One of the few potential weaknesses of this Titans defense is along the defensive line. We already know what we’ll get out of Jurrell Casey, but the rest of the group is somewhat of a question mark.

Of course, Simmons will be out for at least the first six weeks, but the Titans will have six weeks after that to decide whether or not to add him to the active roster. Judging on how far ahead he is in his recovery from a torn ACL, Simmons should return shortly thereafter.

Next. Titans winners and losers of Week 1 win over Browns. dark

If Tennessee can add a stud like Simmons, who can both get to the quarterback and be a major asset against the run, the rest of the league better be scared at just how great this Titans defense will be this season.
