Fantasy waiver wire Week 2: Add A.J. Brown, drop Dion Lewis
Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown will be a top fantasy football waiver wire add in Week 2.
If you’re looking for a wide receiver on the fantasy football waiver wire for Week 2, look no further than Tennessee Titans wide receiver, A.J. Brown.
We’re going to take a look at why you should roster Brown, as well as why it’s safe to drop Dion Lewis in your league.
Add: A.J. Brown
I wasn’t too high on A.J. Brown in fantasy this season because of the slew of weapons the Titans have in the passing game, and the unpredictability of rookie receivers — but it looks like I might have been wrong.
Brown wasted no time in making an impact and shedding the stigma that rookie wide receivers have in fantasy as far as lacking dependability goes.
The Ole Miss product exploded for 100 yards on three catches in his debut thanks to grabs of 47 yards and 51 yards. The first catch was an example of great play-calling by Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, but the second was all Brown.
After catching a pass near the first down line, Brown exploded across the field, stiff-armed a defender, showed some nice cutback moves, and nearly dragged more Browns defenders with him.

The strength and physicality Brown was billed with coming into the league was on full display on that one play. The rookie receiver looks like he has the goods to create plenty of yards after the catch by himself, and he should be a top waiver wire target for Week 2.
Drop: Dion Lewis
One of the few Titans who didn’t have a good game in the Week 1 shellacking of the Browns was Dion Lewis. The Titans No. 2 back only touched the ball six times (three carries, three receptions) and turned those touches into 13 total yards.
More importantly, he took a clear backseat to Derrick Henry, who figures to be the undisputed workhorse back in Tennessee this season. Henry had 20 total touches (19 carries) and turned them into 189 yards and two touchdowns.
Lewis had his opportunity for a big play on a screen pass that left plenty of room in front of him for major yardage, but he simply dropped the pass.
Lewis’ value was already down to start the season, but now it’s in the toilet. You can comfortably drop him in 12-team leagues after Week 1, unless you want to keep him around as a less-than-stellar handcuff if you have Henry on your roster. His standalone value is zero.
