Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker threw a little shade at the Cleveland Browns now derailed hype train.

Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker didn’t mince words about the hype surrounding the Cleveland Browns after his team’s Week 1 blowout win.

When asked about all the buildup for the Browns that had them smoking the Titans and taking the league by storm prior to Week 1 even being played, Walker channeled former NFL head coach, Dennis Green, per Erik Bacharach of the Tennesseean.

"“We didn’t circle this game. This is just another game. We ain’t even worried about it. I’m gonna tell you again, man. They were who we thought they were. Y’all can crown ’em if you want. Crown ’em. Still got to play football.”"

Walker is right. The Browns certainly looked like your typical Browns when the game was actually played and it was time to put rubber to road. The Titans simply dismantled what was one of the most hyped-up teams in NFL history – and it wasn’t even close.

The veteran tight end played a big role in that. He caught five passes for 55 yards and found paydirt twice in the 43-14 win.

This game was personal for Walker, also. The 35-year-old had his fair share of doubters who didn’t think he could make it back from a serious ankle injury at his age. Walker not only returned, but he looked like the elite tight end we knew prior to his 2018 injury.

Like the Titans, Walker has something to prove, and after all the negative noise and disrespect, Walker and the Titans showed the football world why they need to be taken seriously in 2019.

While the rout should come as a surprise, a Titans win should not. After all, at least the Titans have some kind of results with three winning seasons in a row. The Browns, on the other hand, have won nothing in recent memory and can’t be taken seriously until they do.
