The Tennessee Titans have promoted Aaron Stinnie to the active roster and waived wide receiver Kalif Raymond.

With an injury to right guard Kevin Pamphile potentially leaving the team one offensive lineman short in Week 1, the Tennessee Titans made a roster move to promote Aaron Stinnie from the practice squad.

Jim Wyatt of Titans Online shared the news.

"On Saturday, the Titans promoted offensive lineman Aaron Stinnie from the practice squad to the active roster, while waiving receiver Kalif Raymond."

In a corresponding move, the team waived wide receiver Kalif Raymond, who could potentially return to the practice squad. Raymond was a standout in training camp and the preseason, but was also the team’s No. 6 receiver on the depth chart.

The move to bring Stinnie to the active roster could mean Pamphile, who is listed as questionable and missed the team’s last two practices before Week 1, won’t suit up in the Titans’ regular season opener against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Pamphile is dealing with a knee injury and was spotted limping into the locker room on Wednesday. In Pamphile’s place, the Titans will likely roll with fellow guard Jamil Douglas as the starter, with rookie guard Nate Davis available to back him up.

Stinnie will provide some extra help and could see snaps over Davis after the rookie missed a lot of practice time with an undisclosed injury. Stinnie can play at both guard and tackle.

This is obviously not good news for the Titans, who already have their hands full with a talented Browns pass-rush without the help of their left tackle, Taylor Lewan. Lewan was suspended for the first four games of the regular season after testing positive for Ostarine.

As bad as Pamphile looked during the preseason, Douglas isn’t any better. The best hope the Titans have at right guard this season remains Davis, but it’s anyone’s guess how soon he’ll see significant snaps, with head coach Mike Vrabel making it clear Davis has some catching up to do.
