The bad news is that one of the Titans best interior linemen Corey Levin was cut likely because he couldn’t play offensive tackle.
Some reckless speculation here, this is what I think happened with the offensive line:
-The Titans were always going to only keep 8 on the roster with Lewan exempt. So the five starters obviously made it.
-I think that the bond between David Quessenberry and Mike Vrabel along with some decent preseason play earned him the backup tackle spot over Tyler Marz.
-Nate Davis was always a lock to make the roster.
-It came down to Levin vs Jamil Douglas for the back up interior guy who can snap the ball. Again, pure speculation, but I think this all goes back to the Kevin Pamphile re-signing. The Tennessee Titans promised him a chance to compete for the RG spot instead of being just a backup OT. However, when the Lewan suspension came down they found themselves short on tackles with NFL experience. Now stuck in a position where they needed to keep Pamphile as a backup OT as much as a guard, Levin might have felt slighted that he was never really given the chance to earn a starting spot despite clearly being on of the best offensive linemen for the Titans this preseason. That led to a mutual decision to part ways.
At least that is the only way I can make sense of this.
