Tennessee Titans defense: Jurrell Casey, DT

The sleeping giant of the Tennessee Titans defense, Jurrell Casey is coming off of one the best years of his career and he didn’t even finish the season.

With the addition of Cameron Wake on one side and the rise of Harold Landry on the other, the EDGEs look improved. However, the return of a healthy Jurrell Casey and Daquan Jones returning to peak form would also be big for this defense.

With one of the best and most versatile pairs of starting linebackers in the NFL, it is up to Jurrell Casey to wreak enough havoc in the middle of the offensive line of those guys to stay clean and make plays.

But, if the offense is foolish enough to leave him in 1-on-1 situations then the Titans have to be able to exploit it and get to the quarterback up the middle.

Jurrell Casey has started off seasons slowly in recent history, but Dean Pees should have a plan for him in Week 1 vs and offensive line that has one good pass protector. In fact, expect to see some exotic defensive formations with Jurrell Casey and Rashaan Evans as 3-techs and linebackers sugared up in the A-gap to prevent double teams on Casey.
