Heading into 2019, the Jacksonville Jaguars floundered in addressing the offensive side of the ball. Luckily, they’ve got another thing going for them. If they can keep their egos in check, their defense can be elite.

Much to the chagrin of northeast Florida, the defensive unit struggled statistically last season. One of the reasons being that the offense couldn’t stay on the field, plain and simple. The front office added quarterback Nick Foles this offseason, and while he is an upgrade to Blake Bortles, he could be a product of a system.

New offensive coordinator, John DeFilippo, was the QBs coach in Philadelphia during their 2017 Super Bowl run, but many think he was just a cog in the wheel of Frank Reich’s offense. DeFilippo was hired as OC by the Minnesota Vikings following the Eagles’ Super Bowl win, but only lasted until his Week 14 firing after a 21-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Yikes.

Historically, the Titans own the Jaguars. It’s a fact as evident as RB Leonard Fournette’s career mark of 3.7 yards per carry—talk about inefficient.

Prediction: Season sweep

If the offense doesn’t improve, the ferocious Jaguars D will continue to tire, and the Titans get the sweep, again.
