Corey Levin gets cut

A former 2017 sixth-round pick of the Titans, I expected Levin would make the roster. Granted, his play has never been of the standout variety, but he is a solid offensive lineman who can play multiple positions upfront, and he was OK during the preseason.

In fact, there was some a notion that Levin could start at center if the Titans decided to move Ben Jones to right guard with Kevin Pamphile struggling during the preseason.

Instead, Jones got a contract extension and will remain the team’s center, while Levin is on his way out the door, giving way to Jamil Douglas and David Quessenberry.

Our own Will Lomas explained why he thought cutting Levin was a mistake.

"-The Titans cut their fourth best lineman of the preseason in Corey Levin. Not only should Levin have been the starter at guard, he could have been the starter at center if the Titans would have been able to think creatively."

In Lomas’ opinion, Levin should have been the starter at right guard over Pamphile, or the Titans should have moved Jones to the right side and inserted Levin at center.

Both of those logical ideas died in a fiery blaze on Saturday.
