2:30 PM: Trey Smith OL, Tennessee

This is the biggest storyline in college football today and it just so happens to be happening to my favorite college team.

Smith was the #1 prospect in the nation just a few years ago and looked every bit the stud that fans were promised early in his career. However, blood clots (possibly similar to what New England Patriots center David Andrews is dealing with) caused him to miss games off and on throughout his career.

When healthy, Smith is a 1st round interior offensive linemen, which is a rare thing. However, even if he stays healthy for all of this year and all of the next, teams will always have lingering concerns about his long-term health.

Right now you can only control today, so just playing in the game and looking good will be enough but there is a world where Smith plays a full season and comes out in the 2020 NFL Draft. If that happens, could Smith be GM Jon Robinson’s next Jeffery Simmons?
