Tennessee Titans final 53-man roster projection
By Will Lomas
Tight Ends (4): Delanie Walker, Jonnu Smith, Anthony Firkser, MyCole Pruitt
The tight end depth is maybe the best depth the Titans have.
Delanie Walker is a Pro Bowl TE that should be mentioned as an All-Decade player for the 2010s when his career is finished. While his peaks haven’t been quite as high as some others, no one in the NFL has been more consistent when healthy over the last five years.
Jonnu Smith‘s injury is a shame because he was finally figuring out how he fit in the offense right before his ACL injury. He has potential and has shown flashes of being a playmaker.
Anthony Firkser is the 5th best receiving option on the Titans roster right now behind Corey Davis, Delanie Walker, Adam Humphries, and A.J. Brown. While his blocking needs some work, blocking isn’t what sends TEs to the Pro Bowl and it isn’t what puts stress on defenses.
If you do want a blocking tight end, the closest thing the Tennessee Titans have is Pruitt who has been solid. Think of him as a slightly more fluid Luke Stocker which should earn him a roster spot.
