3 reasons why Derrick Henry fantasy football hype is real
Stacked boxes don’t matter
Worried that the Titans’ passing attack won’t do enough to take the pressure off Henry and that he’ll face a ton of stacked boxes in 2019?
Well, don’t.
According to PFF, Henry earned the 10th-highest grade in the NFL last season when running against stacked boxes, with an overall mark of 71.7. Furthermore, Henry also totaled the third-most rushing yards among backs against stacked boxes with 553.

One of the key qualities Henry has that helps him succeed in the face of that kind of adversity is that he’s a machine at breaking tackles. The bruising back was tied for a league-high 45 broken tackles in 2019.
He also finished second in the NFL in yards after contact among backs, with 905 yards on 215 rushing attempts. Dallas Cowboys running back, Ezekiel Elliot, led the NFL with 949 yards, but did so with 89 more carries than Henry.
Aside from an improved offensive line that we already mentioned, the Titans passing attack has more weapons for Marcus Mariota to use. If the Titans can keep defenses honest by consistently throwing the rock, Henry will see fewer stacked boxes.
Henry’s bruising style of running is a thing of beauty. What’s even better is that Henry can make house calls from anywhere on the field, which was evident when he busted a 99-yard touchdown run against the Jags in Week 14 of last season.
