Tennessee Titans Preseason Week 4 Player of The Game: Dalyn Dawkins
Tennessee Titans running back, Dalyn Dawkins, takes home the Preseason Week 4 Player of the Game award in the Titans’ 19-15 win against the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night.
As expected, both the Titans and Bears sat almost every player that is essentially locked into a roster spot for tonight’s game. Although the game was a hard watch at times, Dalyn Dawkins made his case for a roster spot, or at the very least, another stint on the practice squad.
The Colorado State product ran hard and clearly played like he wanted to make a statement in the final preseason game. Dawkins has been limited this preseason with a lingering injury. However, he made the most of his final opportunity on Thursday night.
Dawkins finished with 13 carries for 117 yards, four catches for 31 yards, and two receiving touchdowns. His second score of the evening ended up being the game-winner.
Dawkins would have walked into the end zone for a third receiving touchdown earlier in the fourth quarter, if not for an errant throw from Logan Woodside.
Honorable Mention: David Long
David Long all but solidified his spot on the Titans’ 53. The former Mountaineer seemed to always be around the ball when he was on the field.
The former sixth-round pick also did a lot of the dirty work for the team. He consistently stuffed gaps that were open, allowing his teammates to make plays. Long was an obvious bright spot on a night that was filled with tons of mental and physical errors from a lot of players that won’t be on the team after Saturday.
Long finished with three tackles on the night, and a ton of production that will fail to show up on the stat sheet.
