- Best season: 2016
- 1,287 rushing yards, nine rushing touchdowns
- 266 receiving yards, one touchdown reception
Some people may think this is too high, but…well, you are wrong.
DeMarco Murray was outstanding in 2016 and did everything you could want for the Titans. On the field, he brought a combination of tough running and speed that made him one of the most complete running backs that the franchise has ever seen.
Off the field, he brought positive media attention to a team that a lot of people had forgotten about. Also, he brought a “winning” attitude to the locker room, and I don’t mean that in a corny way. He came in and didn’t just want to collect a paycheck like so many other big-name free agents had in Tennessee before him.
Murray came in and fully expected to win every game. His first season with the team saw the Titans jump from three wins to nine wins in large part because he was the AFC’s leading rusher.
What he did on the ground opened things up for Marcus Mariota through the air. It was one of the best offenses that we have seen from the Tennessee Titans in the last two decades.
