Amani Bledsoe

With Brent Urban seemingly the favorite to start at defensive end for the Titans, there’s a backup spot up for grabs at the position. Oklahoma product, Amani Bledsoe, is one of the possibilities to fill-in behind Urban for that role.

Bledsoe started off the preseason strong after he was the Titans’ top-graded (84.2) defender in Preseason Week 1 among players with a minimum of 15 snaps. Bledsoe didn’t stand out in Preseason Week 2 as much in 27 snaps, but still had a solid showing.

Frank Herron is the biggest competition for Bledsoe on the depth chart, and both players could see some significant snaps against starters in the third preseason game.

As of right now, Bledsoe has done more to earn a backup role with the Titans based on his play in practice and the preseason, but having a strong game on Sunday will certainly help his cause.

We’d expect both players to see a lot of the field in Preseason Week 4 as well, however the competition won’t be as stiff with all teams typically resting their starters in the preseason finale.
