Isaiah Mack

The Mack Attack was born in Preseason Week 2. We’ll also accept “Mack Truck” if you like.

No matter what you want to call him, the Chattanooga product totaled four tackles and notched his first sack of the preseason against New England. He showed great hands in shedding his blocker and was able to down Pats backup quarterback, Brian Hoyer.

On a team looking for more players to step up and put pressure on the quarterback, Mack went about giving himself a leg up on his competition in the best way.

Mack hasn’t just been good in games, though. The UDFA has also shined in practice and was a standout player throughout training camp. Now he’ll get a chance to show what he has against what should be an increased amount of starting and second-string players on the Steelers’ offense.

The Titans have a crowd of players on the defensive line who are fighting for a roster spot, and Mack looks to be in competition with fellow lineman, Matt Dickerson, for the right to fill-in behind Jurrell Casey, and possibly DaQuan Jones.

Mack needs to keep up his solid play in order to remain above the pack. If he can reproduce what he did in the second preseason game, he could be the first man off the bench behind either of the aforementioned starters.
