Winner: Brett Kern, punter

Brett Kern was on absolute fire last night, which means he is playing at an average level for him.

Kern is maybe the league’s most well kept secret, which really just means that no one recognizes how great he is. Last night he had two punts downed inside the seven yard line, one of which led to a safety just a play later.

I don’t know what fancy metric everyone is using to quantify punters, but I am sure that somehow Kern isn’t a top-2 or 3 punter by that standard. I am here to tell you that whatever metric that is, is wrong.

Kern has had to punt so much during his time in Tennessee that he probably has more wear and tear than most punters his age, but with a better offense the 2019 version of the Tennessee Titans should allow him to rest just a bit more.

Maybe that means he will get a chance to really rip a few this season, but even if he doesn’t I have no doubt that one of the best players at his position on the Tennessee Titans roster is Pro Bowl punter Brett Kern.
