Tennessee Titans defensive snap counts
We’re going to re-post the offensive snap counts because the defensive players begin at the bottom of the picture below. The rest of the defensive snap counts will follow thereafter.
Perhaps one of the top performers on defense, UDFA and Chattanooga product, Isaiah Mack, had the third-most snaps with 34. “Mack attack” made the most of those snaps after he totaled four tackles (one solo and one for loss) and one sack. He was ballin’ on Saturday night.
Titans sixth-round pick, David Long, led the way by a mile in snaps with 60. He led the team with eight tackles (five solo) and is a fun player to watch, both because of his passion and the speed at which he plays.
Rookie defensive back, Amani Hooker, had the fourth-most snaps with 33, and collected one tackle and one pass defended on a nice read to knock the ball down. He nearly had an interception and could have taken it all the way had he held onto the ball.
There wasn’t much action for the Titans’ starting secondary in this one, as cornerback Adoree’ Jackson got the most defensive snaps of the group with nine. Slot corner Logan Ryan made the most of his five snaps with an interception on a throw by Patriots quarterback, Brian Hoyer.
In his 15 snaps, linebacker Sharif Finch was able to get multiple pressures on the quarterback. He would have had a sack if not for a holding penalty on the Pats, but the play did result in a safety after Finch forced the penalty in the end zone. Finch has been very impressive thus far.
With defensive lineman DaQuan Jones getting eight snaps at nose tackle and looking good in the process, Brent Urban got 13 snaps at defensive end. Training camp standout and UDFA, Amani Bledsoe, earned himself 27.
Based on the low amount of snaps for Urban, it would seem he’s got an inside track to start alongside Jones and defensive lineman, Jurrell Casey, who did not play in the second preseason game.
