Rodger Saffold, LG #76

While Adam Humphries has been outstanding, the crown jewel of the offseason additions has always been left guard Rodger Saffold.

The Pro Bowl guard and zone scheme expert has a wide frame loaded with power all while having the feet and athleticism of someone much smaller. If you want something to watch to see just how good he is, go back and watch the Dallas Cowboys playoff game from 2018 and watch him eat Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch alive for most of the game.

I don’t know if we get to see it, but I would really like to see him take a few snaps with Taylor Lewan as his left tackle and bonus points if Corey Levin is the center on those plays too.

There may be a little bit of rust because of all of the offensive line combinations, but since Saffold practiced and didn’t play in the first preseason game, I would expect to see him tonight.
