Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots joint practice notes: Day 2

Tannehill struggles outside of Taywan Taylor connection
Ryan Tannehill is going to be one of the best backup quarterbacks in the NFL this season, but the problem is that people just want more from him for some reason.
In his first season with a new offense and new players around him, everything isn’t going to be great all the time. While a strong showing against 2nd and 3rd stringers from the Philadelphia Eagles was nice to see, for the most part he has just been “ok” during practices.
Today was worse than that especially in the redzone, but like the preseason game you shouldn’t put too much stock in it.
It isn’t all bad news for Tannehill as he seems to be great when he can target guys like Taywan Taylor, at least over the last two days.
I said it earlier and I will say it again now, I hate that fans are picking between Marcus Mariota and Ryan Tannehill. It isn’t an either or situation, the starter is Mariota and the backup is Tannehill.
You should hope that Tannehill dominates the 2s in the preseason because if he has to come in during the regular season it is going to be a lot harder right? That is why the Titans gave up a pick for Tannehill is because they thought they were getting this guy.
Meanwhile, every time Marcus Mariota does something well it is getting ignored by the Tannehill supporters and blown up by Mariota fans.
If you believe in either of these guys great, but if you are a fan you should support whatever decision the coaching staff makes and you should pull for Tannehill and the starting quarterback.
