Humphries was limited at practice on Thursday.

Update: Wednesday, August 14th at 12:24 p.m. CDT

After practice, head coach Mike Vrabel didn’t give much information on Humphries’ potential injury or status. He simply said the team will evaluate the wide receiver and hope he gets back out there tomorrow.

No surprise at the lack of information there.

End of update.

While none of the beat writers noticed anything in particular bothering Humphries, it seems as though he was out of action for a bit before leaving the field.

Prior to leaving the practice field, Humphries dropped a nicely-thrown ball by quarterback Marcus Mariota in tight coverage.

We’ll share any updates on Humphries’ status when they become available right here.

For now, we’ll just hope this is precautionary and Humphries is fine. Head coach Mike Vrabel is usually pretty quiet about injuries, so we may or may not get a solid update after practice.

Humphries is coming off a solid preseason debut in which he was targeted in six of eight passes thrown by quarterback Marcus Mariota. He hauled in four of them for 24 yards, and Humphries also helped convert two third downs.

Regardless of the outcome, it’s clear that Mariota and Humphries have some early chemistry, and it’s possible the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver could become a favorite target of the Titans QB.

Mariota has historically had issues throwing to the slot, but that’s largely because he’s never had a talent like Humphries there. The slot receiver should be a huge boost for Mariota’s career passer rating to the slot.

The Titans and Patriots held their first of two joint practices on Wednesday, with the second scheduled for Thursday. This week of joint practices will culminate with a preseason showdown in Nashville between the two teams for Preseason Week 2.

The Patriots were one of the teams interested in Humphries in free agency, however he decided against joining the defending Super Bowl champs, and instead chose the Titans.

The Titans will hope whatever Humphries is dealing with is minor, obviously, but the team does have several options to play the slot on this roster. None of those are as good as Humphries, however.
