Trying to make sense of Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota narrative and teach people where they are wrong.

Ask three people from different parts of the country what they think of Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota and you will probably get three different answers.

If you ask someone from the west coast, Hawaii or a longtime Tennessee Titans fan and you will likely get a positive or optimistic take.

Someone from an AFC South rival will probably describe him as a thorn in their side and as someone who may not have great stats but who always puts pressure on a defense.

Ask someone from a city that doesn’t have to deal with Marcus Mariota on a regular basis and you will probably get a canned response they have heard from national media pundits about how he can’t lead the team.

All three of these people would be wrong. Whether you want to see him as glass half full or glass half empty, the truth is no one really knows what Marcus Mariota is. This tweet from Brad Kelly frames the stats the way he wants it, but they are important to know:

Mariota was outstanding, and then he got hurt and his numbers haven’t been the same since. But, is that the real story or are his stats a combination of other issues that have fallen on him?

The NFL is not the place to look at things critically and in depth. Instead, people write off slightly older players in favor of rookies and second year players because they want to be “right” first.

When people talk about Mariota there are 5 reasons the disregard him as a franchise quarterback. Let me go through and explain why people ignorantly write off the 5th year QB.
