Akeem Hunt pushing hard to make the roster
Yesterday the Tennessee Titans signed running back Akeem Hunt, today he is already moving up to the RB3 role:
Newcomer Akeem Hunt has immediately moved up to the RB3 role for the #Titans behind Lewis and McNichols with Henry and Fluellen still out. Hunt had a strong practice yesterday. Barnes could be cut when Flu gets back. #TitansCamp

Wow, Mike Vrabel isn’t afraid to let anyone compete for a job and if you stand out he is really going to move you up.
I talked a little bit about Hunt yesterday and why the Titans should be serious about keeping him:
VERY intriguing guy.

-Averaged 5 YPC in AAF last year
-5.5 over his college career
-5.1 in the NFL over 45 carries
-not limited, can catch
-3 kick return TDs in his last 3 years in college
-5th in average yards per return in 2017 (25 attempts) #Titans https://t.co/FuzVJmWUFJ
While he hasn’t started taking snaps as a kick returner or punt returner yet, that is certainly another role that he could fill for this team. It can’t hurt to have more depth at running back, especially if they can get him under a cheap, 2-year contract.
With Derrick Henry’s return seemingly getting closer, the next week or so could set the depth chart.
It is an all out sprint to be one of the running backs not taking snaps in Week 4 of the preseason and right now it is a race that Akeem Hunt, Dalyn Dawkins, Jeremy McNichols, and possibly David Fluellen are all fighting to win.
