Tennessee Titans fifth-round pick D’Andre Walker was placed on injured reserve on Saturday, ending his season.

The Tennessee Titans got some bad news on Saturday, as the team placed outside linebacker D’Andre Walker on injured reserve. He did not take part in the Titans’ preseason opener on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Walker was the Titans’ fifth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. We don’t have the specifics on the injury he suffered, but we’ll update this article when those details become available.

The fifth-round pick will now miss the entire 2019 regular season.

Walker was expected to make the 53-man roster out of camp, so the Titans will have to find another linebacker to fill his reserve role. The Titans have a deep linebacker corps., so the team should be able to absorb this blow. It’s a tough loss, nonetheless.

In four years with the Bulldogs, Walker totaled 112 total tackles (27.5 for loss) and 13.5 sacks. In his senior campaign, Walker had his best season with 45 total tackles (11 for loss), 7.5 sacks and three passes defended.

The Titans made a slew of other roster moves aside from putting Walker on IR, according to ESPN’s Turron Davenport.

There is some good news to report in all this, though.

Star defensive lineman Jurrell Casey has been activated off the PUP list and is ready to go for 2019. Casey’s addition to the PUP to start training camp was a bit of a surprise, but clearly it wasn’t a big issue and his rehab from a knee injury is over.

Casey’s presence on the roster is obviously huge. The Titans have a solid defense, but one of the question marks that remain is how well the defensive line will hold up. Now that Casey is back, it at least quells some of the worries about how things could get worse upfront without him around.
