4 and 5. Dennis Kelly and Jack Conklin

The Tennessee Titans starting tackles for the start of the 2019 NFL season are going to be Dennis Kelly and Jack Conklin thanks to a tainted sample from Taylor Lewan that got him suspended for a month.

We can debate the morality of the NFL’s drug testing policy and why they should fix it sooner rather than later. However, right now the big question is how well will Jack Conklin rebound and can Dennis Kelly hold up on the left side.

It hasn’t happened often, but Kelly has gotten long looks at left tackle before. In one of the most memorable Tennessee Titans games in recent history, he played nearly every snap at left tackle in the beat down of the Green Bay Packers in 2017.

Conklin meanwhile is trying to regain his All-Pro form. With a full year between him and his ACL recovery, the former first round pick should see this as his coming out party and his first chance to really prove that he has gotten over what ailed him last year.

Will the Titans let these two guys play on an island while they are out there, or will they give them help knowing that the more important thing is to keep Marcus Mariota safe out there? Trust is a big factor in that question and we will see exactly how much Mike Vrabel and the coaches trust those guys tonight.
