1. D’Andre Walker, EDGE

Outside linebacker D’Andre Walker was initially thought to be the Tennessee Titans’ third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The consensus was that this was good value, and the Titans might be addressing a real need.

He eventually slid to the fifth round, and Titans general manager Jon Robinson pulled the trigger.

Now, Walker is battling behind veteran edge rusher Cameron Wake, and outside linebackers Harold Landry and Sharif Finch for significant snaps.

Walker did not practice on Tuesday, but if he’s on the field for Thursday’s matchup, get ready for the show. He’s certainly one of the Titans’ 2019 rookies to watch during the preseason.

2. Derick Roberson, EDGE

Here’s a guy I’ve been waiting to see suit up for what feels like way too long. The Titans signed him as a UDFA out of Sam Houston State following the draft, which comes as no surprise. We know how Robinson likes his small-school guys.

Roberson was a four-star recruit coming out of high school in San Antonio, TX, and initially joined the Texas Longhorns in 2015.

Roberson “struggled with injuries, fighting a shoulder issue in his redshirt freshman season in 2015 (six tackles, two sacks in 10 games as a reserve) and then missed spring practices the following year due to a concussion suffered during a car accident,” per NFL.com.

Last season, Roberson finished tied for the FCS lead in total sacks with 15.

Roberson is turning heads at camp and beating every offensive lineman in front of him. He’s got a solid speed rush, and a pretty good bend coming off the edge. Head coach Mike Vrabel seems to like his tenacity, even if it is just for breaking up a training camp scuffle.
