Corey Davis shines
What kind of training practice would it be without Corey Davis being amazing again?
I am doing everything I can to keep from crowing Davis as the preseason MVP already, but so far he has just been stellar.
Today he made what was described as a “leaping catch” on the sideline against tight coverage, and throughout drills he drew the defenses best corners playing their hardest calling these reps “game reps” because of their degree of difficulty.
Despite all of that and changes in the OL giving Marcus Mariota an excuse to throw it short if he wanted to, Davis still shines and has clearly locked in the trust of the quarterback. I mean, just look at what some of the Titans best beat writers had to say.
Mariota hits Corey Davis in red zone drill, and #Titans coach Vrabel signals TD.

Corey Davis continues to have a good camp. Mariota just found him on a deep out. Nice anticipation on the throw. Davis went up and got it coming down with both feet in bounds. Harold Landry and Jaylon Brown get pressure to force a throw away on the next play. #Titans

I don’t know if we are going to see a “breakout” year from Davis because so much of that depends on volume. However, he has all the tools to have a fantastic year and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him set some records for a Titans receiver whether that is TD receptions or big plays, or total yardage, or whatever.
It just has the feel of an amazing season for Davis.
