Winner: The “other guys” Adam Humphries and Tajae Sharpe

The whole offseason when we talked about pass catchers it was always Corey Davis, A.J. Brown and Delanie Walker. That was the trio that were brought up over and over again.

However, Tajae Sharpe was an afterthought and Adam Humphries looked great on paper but we didn’t even know if the Tennessee Titans would use a slot receiver due to how few they have had in the last decade.

Then came practice and everything changed.

Tajae Sharpe has been physical and it has been Sharpe, not Taywan Taylor, who has been starting on the outside with the 1st team offense in the wake of the A.J. Brown injury.

Meanwhile, Adam Humphries has been manning the slot where he seems to be absolutely impossible to cover. In one-on-ones he is breaking dudes off with his routes and quick feet. In team drills he is making diving catches, and in redzone situations he is a clear favorite of Marcus Mariota.

While I think Corey Davis has looked like the most dominant WR on the roster so far, you could argue that Sharpe has been the player who has outplayed his expectations the most while Humphries been the go-to guy on short passes when you need to convert or score.
