Loser: Alex Barnes

Maybe this all changes after the first week of the preseason, but I really though we would see more from Alex Barnes at this point.

With Derrick Henry out for nearly all of camp so far, I have heard about Barnes maybe twice?

This was a guy that I thought had the potential to be a co-leader in the backfield in 2020 if things fell right, but every day I look and don’t see much about him.

Now, if Barnes goes out and stacks up a 10 rush, 85 yard, 1 TD type game in the first week of the preseason then I am all the way back on the hype train and I will forget this article even happened.

As we stand right now though he is going to really have to impress in the preseason games to get more looks in practice. As backwards as that seems, I can’t think of a situation where he gets more looks than he already has, barring an injury.

Barnes has the talent and athleticism, I’m hoping with a chance he can earn a job on the 53-man roster somewhere for a season.
