Great news for Tennessee Titans fans, but also some notes of concern.

The Tennessee Titans had their first padded practice of the season this morning and there is no shortage of news.

Let’s get right into it starting with who was actually on the field.

Veterans day off

Tennessee Titans HC Mike Vrabel isn’t your typical player’s coach, but he is a player’s coach nonetheless.

Guys like Pete Carrol fit that mold because they have a really gentle touch and focus on fun more than fundamentals at times. You can’t really blame them because they get results and their players generally buy in.

However, Vrabel takes his tough-nose experience from grinding it out on rosters run by Bill Belichick and Bill Cowher, and mixes it with…well the experience of what those sort of camps do to a player physically.

So it wasn’t a surprise to see him let several veterans take the day off. Guys like Delanie Walker, Cameron Wake, Rodger Saffold, and Wesley Woodyard all took some or all of today off.
