Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry has reportedly been placed in a walking boot.

We’ve gotten an unofficial update on the status of Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry, who left practice early during the team’s first day of training camp on Friday.

According to Terry McCormick of Titan Insider, Henry had his left foot placed in a walking boot.

"Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry had his left foot placed in a walking boot after suffering an injury Friday on the first day of training camp, according to sources with knowledge of the situation."

While we don’t know exactly what is wrong with Henry or how serious it might be, McCormick speculates that, obviously, it could be his foot or ankle.

Sure, this certainly isn’t great news, but there isn’t a reason for major concern as of yet. At this early stage of training camp, teams will take the utmost precaution with even the smallest injury.

Henry’s situation could be very minor, but the Titans are taking every step necessary to ensure this doesn’t become a long-term situation.

The Titans back wasn’t the only player to come down with an injury on Friday. Wide receiver A.J. Brown also suffered an injury when he slipped during a drill, however he has been labeled as day-to-day by head coach Mike Vrabel. Henry got the same designation from the Titans head coach.

After practice on Saturday, Vrabel had no update on Henry, so this is the first information we’ve gotten on Henry’s injury since Friday.

The Titans will need Henry to be healthy in order to really unleash their offense this season.

Henry ran for over 1,000 yards last season—and broke out for 585 yards and seven touchdowns in the last four weeks—and the Titans will sport a run-first offense in 2019, which is also important to take some pressure off quarterback Marcus Mariota.
