6 Tennessee Titans players who could propel team to special 2019 season
A.J. Brown
After a season in which he caught 85 passes for 1,320 yards and six touchdowns for Ole Miss, A.J. Brown has all the makings of a special receiver in the NFL. He’s got great hands and is a physical playmaker who can win at the point of attack.
Adding to his skills, Brown is a deep-ball threat who can make house calls on short passes, which makes a quarterback’s job that much easier.
The problem with rookie receivers is that they are unpredictable, as we’ve seen time and time again in this league. Whether or not Brown develops quickly enough to make a significant impact remains to be seen.
Versatility is also a key part of Brown’s game. He’s got experience playing in both the slot and on the outside from his collegiate days, but we’d expect him to spend the vast majority of his rookie season on the outside with Humphries manning the slot.
Brown has the potential to be a No. 1 receiver and defenses will have to account for him on the outside. When lining him up across from the team’s No. 1 wideout, Corey Davis, Brown gives Mariota and the Titans a dangerous 1-2 punch on each side of the field.
Along with Humphries, the addition of Brown could elevate this Titans passing attack.
