Potential surprise: offense

Derrick Henry, running back

Derrick Henry is almost impossible not to grade high and this year I think he rides that historic December hype train to a 90+ rating.

On paper you have a 6’3, 250 lb. running back who runs over defenders and who ripped off a 99-yard touchdown run against a defense “full of talent” according to people that only watched 2017 highlight film of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

You could knock him for consistency or his work load, but isn’t that the opposite of what Madden is supposed to be? You get to call the plays and decide his workload, and you get to decide exactly how he runs, so what is the problem.

How many other “home run threats” will get boosts because of their potential to take a play to the house at any time while people still look up his size and think he is just a slightly faster fullback? Surely the people at EA will know better.
