Breakout Players

Harold Landry

"“Someone like Harold Landry is going to have to step up in year two. A player that I loved, I had a top-20 grade on him, then you find out there is some injury concerns maybe a hip concern that made him fall to round two in 2018 (Lomas: which is news to me?)…He will have to be the go-to pass rusher for this team.”"

-I completely agree with this. It is hard to see this defense reaching an entirely new level without Landry taking the next step. Now, really all Landry has to do to replace what he, Brian Orakpo, and Derrick Morgan did last year is get 5.5 sacks instead of 4.5 sacks after the other two only combined for one sack in 2018.

So, it isn’t like the Tennessee Titans are losing 15+ sacks between the departures of Orakpo and Morgan and I am surprised that it doesn’t get brought up more just how many sacks this team could have if they just had two above average pass rushers on the outside getting 8+ sacks each.

Let’s say Landry does take that next step and finishes with nine sacks and Cameron Wake has seven. Last year those additional sacks would have moved the Tennessee Titans from from 16th to 5th in the NFL. That is a massive jump.
