Titans Marcus Mariota, Derrick Henry get keys to Nissan Heisman House

Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota and running back Derrick Henry were given the keys to the Nissan Heisman House.

Did Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota and running back Derrick Henry just become best friends?

The former Heisman Trophy winners were given the keys to the Nissan Heisman House, and the two posed for a picture on Henry’s Instagram story.

The pair did a television commercial at the house back in 2017.

Nissan Heisman House

In its ninth year, the promotional homes are a collaborative effort by Nissan and Habitat for Humanity. Funded by the Heisman Trophy Trust, the story is that they build a new home each year.

Its 2016 location was said to be in North Nashville—which would have been fitting for a Mariota/Henry slumber party—but the home used in the commercials is rumored to be an American Red Cross office located in South Pasadena, CA.

Marcus Mariota

According to Heisman.com, the Heisman Trophy “annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity.”

In 2014, that was Titans quarterback and Oregon product Marcus Mariota. His stat line was jaw-dropping, and it garnered the third-highest vote total in Heisman history.

3,783 PASS YDS, 38 TDs, 2 INTs, 669 RUSH YDS, 14 TDs, and one REC TD.

Derrick Henry

Henry’s 2015 junior season was record-breaking and Titans General Manager Jon Robinson took note.

In the 2016 NFL Draft, the Titans picked the Heisman Trophy winner in the second round. Tennessee made history by becoming the first team to select Heisman Trophy winners in consecutive drafts.

Henry set the SEC single-season rushing record during his Heisman campaign and became the third running back in SEC history to rush for 200-plus yards four times in a season.
