Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel will be playing in the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe.

In the midst of the last few weeks before Tennessee Titans training camp officially opens on July 22nd for rookies, head coach Mike Vrabel will be playing in a golf tournament this week.

Vrabel, who arrived in Lake Tahoe on Wednesday, will be taking part in the American Century Championship, which will include 90 celebrities total from both entertainment and sports. The tournament, which was established in 1990, is a nationally televised event.

Other celebrities on the docket include Justin Timberlake, Steph Curry, Charles Barkley, Tony Romo and Aaron Rodgers.

Here’s what Vrabel had to say about playing in the event, courtesy of Jim Wyatt of Titans Online:

“I am looking to have a good time, with low expectations,” Vrabel said. “Tony Romo would probably be the favorite and Coach Reich I heard has some long odds at 60-1. So hopefully I fall somewhere in between there. But I wouldn’t put a whole lot of money on Frank or I to win it.”

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, the tourney’s reigning champ, is indeed the favorite, with his odds sitting at 5-2. As for Vrabel, he comes in at 100-1 odds, while the longshot of the bunch is former NBA star Charles Barkley, who has 7,500-1 odds.

Along with Vrabel, five other NFL head coaches will take part, including division rival Indianapolis Colts head coach, Frank Reich.

Also per Wyatt, Vrabel understands he might hear some boos from the normally boisterous crowd that attends the event because of his time with the New England Patriots as a player. Hopefully some Titans fans will be in attendance to drown out the boos.

This is for a good cause, though. The tournament has historically raised $5 million for charities and this year it’ll be the Stowers Institute for Medical Research getting the donation. There is a prize pool of $600,000 to play for, also.

The tournament will at first be televised on NBCSN on Friday, July 12th. The last two days, Saturday July 13th and Sunday July 14th, will be shown on NBC. There will also be coverage on the Golf Channel.
