A reminder on what the Tennessee Titans might see in Jalen Thompson.

For most fans, this is the calm before the storm. Tennessee Titans training camp start two weeks from Friday and with every other sport on break, we are in the most barren part of summer.

However, if you need something to cling to this is perfect. The Titans should be interested (more on why later) in Jalen Thompson in the 2019 Supplemental NFL Draft.

If the Titans do make a move for him, what should fans expect?

First of all, they get an athletic defensive back with versatility:

They also get an experienced player who played in 39 games during his three years at Washington State. This isn’t a player who got stuck in a logjam behind 5-star players and decided to leave school early because he had to.

Which brings me to my last point on him, whoever gets him will land someone with real NFL talent. Well respected NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline (who has good inside sources) had this quote on his value:

"Stamped as a fourth-round prospect by several scouts this spring, the feeling is Thompson will get drafted somewhere in the later rounds during Wednesday’s supplemental draft, which begins at 1PM."

So you are getting a versatile, experienced and productive player who would have been a borderline top-100 talent in the 2020 NFL Draft and you can get him a year early and cheaper. Why wouldn’t you make a bid?
