Trying to get in Tennessee Titans GM Jon Robinson’s head before camp starts.

I like to think I have a pretty good handle on the things that Tennessee Titans GM Jon Robinson is looking for when building a team.

Sure, high character, football IQ and scheme fits are important, but looking over his four-year history with the franchise there are other things that stand out.

This goes for all phases of the offseason, waiver claims, cuts, free agent targets, draft prospects, but most importantly I am talking about what Robinson likes do to when moving assets for players.

Since Robinson has been with the Titans, here are the trades he has made:

2016: Swapped 4th round picks with the Philadelphia Eagles for DeMarco Murray.

2016: Traded Dorial Green-Beckham for Dennis Kelly

2017: Traded a conditional 7th round pick for David King

2018: Traded a 6th round pick for Kamalei Correa

2019: Traded a 4th (2020) and a 7th round pick for Ryan Tannehill and a 6th round pick.

Those five trades are the only indications of what he will look for in the trade market and it honestly tells us…a lot:

-Most are for a player still on his rookie contract

-And/Or players nearing free agency in the next year

-At positions where depth is needed long term

-If it is a big name, he is buying low

Using that info, let’s check out some options in the AFC North.
