Jared Pinkney TE, Vanderbilt
The Tennessee Titans do not have a need at tight end…yet.
I am never going to bet against Delanie Walker, but there is a good chance that 2020 could actually be the year where the Titans look towards the future with tight end unless Jonnu Smith has a huge year after ACL surgery.
Pinkney is a local product and Jon Robinson has been at more than a dozen Vanderbilt games since landing the top job in Tennessee. He has seen his whole career and obviously saw his explosion last year.
Call them jumbo slot receivers or athletic tight ends, but whatever you call them those positions are starting to pop up more and more in the NFL. Delanie can do that for the Tennessee Titans until he decides he doesn’t want to any more, but behind that do they really have another option?
It would be huge for the Titans to have Jonnu Smith consistently become what he shows he can be for weeks at a time. However, if that doesn’t happen the getting a local, productive player makes a lot of sense.
