Possible free agent help.

The Titans do still have some money in the coffers if they want to go out and make a move. Doing that at this stage in the offseason wouldn’t affect their ability to extend Kevin Byard or any other potential free agent.

Luckily for the Titans there is plenty of defensive tackle help out there in free agency right now.

Much like the safety market last year, defensive tackle still has true starting caliber players just sitting at home waiting. Bill Barnwell posted this:

While his days of being the dominant pass rusher on a DL are behind him, Mo Wilkerson still has the wiggle to make life difficult for opposing offensive linemen in pass protection. Not only that, but he is a player that you never have to take off the field thanks to his ability to play the run as well.

Corey Liuget is a name that no one really talks about, but as a rotational defensive tackle he would make a lot of sense with the Tennessee Titans. He played as a rotational player some last year and in 2017 and it seemed to suit him well, so why not bring him a little closer to home and give him a one-year bridge deal.

You probably didn’t even know he was a defensive tackle, but the name Tom Johnson is a little bit intriguing as well. He had some great years with the Minnesota Vikings a few years back, but is getting older and needs a reduced role.

He is an undersized, athletic DT and may only see the field when it is an obvious pass down but still it is better to get someone that can affect the QB on those plays than to have people in who aren’t going to make an impact.
