Late round sleeper/stash: Taywan Taylor #223 overall WR84

Recent stats, 2018: 37 rec., 466 yards, 1 TD

The Tennessee Titans have a complete logjam at WR after the top-3 (Davis, Humphries, Brown) and it is anyone’s guess as to how it all shakes out. Based purely on athleticism and the potential for a big play, Taylor is the guy who I would bet makes the roster as the WR4.

Even then I think he playing time would be limited, so you are looking at him as a stash player in deeper leagues if he starts being used as a deep threat at some point during the season.

This is where it gets interesting though, what if he doesn’t make it with the Titans? I don’t mean what if he gets cut, I mean what if the Titans look at Tajae Sharpe and Darius Jennings and decide that they like those guys a lot after the preseason?

Plenty of NFL teams need more speed at receiver and Taylor was really well thought of during the draft process a few years ago. The New York Jets new GM loves production and it isn’t like his receivers are anything special, what if the Titans start shopping Taylor around for a depth player or a pick?

Now you have a team that has committed resources to bring Taylor in to see real snaps and targets. Nearly every team in the NFL passes the ball more than the Titans, so you are instantly going to see an uptick in volume.

In my mind, if you pick Taylor you are going to get a player who has a real chance to have a couple of 100+ yard games with at least a TD this season whether it is with the Tennessee Titans or another team.
