The Running Backs

Fresh off a 2018 campaign in which the Titans ranked 7th in rushing, the ground attack is looking better than ever.

Derrick Henry was undoubtedly the best running back in football over the last four weeks of his third season. Thanks to some added help upfront and an endorsement from Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, there’s no reason to think Henry won’t get more work.

And, as we’ve already seen, he makes the most of his opportunities.

If Henry wasn’t enough, the Titans also have Dion Lewis, who is part two of the two-headed monster in Tennessee’s backfield. Lewis can catch balls with the best of them and will be a reliable target for Mariota to get easy yardage on short throws.

Even with what was seemingly a slow start for the rushing attack last season, the Titans were one of the best at pounding the rock in the NFL. Chances are this team will either match or better that mark in 2019.
