1. Corey Davis, WR (1st round 2017)

2017: 34 receptions, 375 yards

2018:  65 receptions, 891 yards

The numbers may not show it, but Corey Davis is an exceptional wide receiver. He is clearly the WR1 in this offense and he is one of the best young receivers in the NFL, but don’t take my word for it (alright, I mean do take my word but I might as well back it up with some stats).

You can even find a thread of his technical beatdown on one of the best cornerbacks in the league, New England’s Stephon Gilmore.

With a six-game sample size, Davis showed what he could do when he was made the focal point of the offense. In the six games when he was targeted 10+ times, the Tennessee Titans went 4-2.

Four of those games happened in 2018 where they went 3-1 including three wins against playoff teams: New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Davis is a refined route runner and has quickly mastered setting up defenders to fail. That comes from 50 starts in college where he became the NCAA’s all-time leader in receiving yards and the 4th all time in catches.

Despite adversity to start his career, Davis is showing that same level of domination, and if the Titans decide to become a pass first team sometime in the future then watch out.

2019 may already be a breakout season for Davis, but if they decide to give him more targets, he will go from being the Titans quiet WR1 to one of the NFL’s most intriguing young receivers.
