RB: Derrick Henry

2018 stats: 215 carries, 1,059 yds (4.9 avg), 12 TD/15 rec (18 targets), 99 yds, 0 TD

Projected Fantasy Football ADP: Second round

Best fit: Standard and PPR

With the running back position always at a premium in fantasy, Henry will not last long in fantasy drafts. The big Titans back pummeled his way to 585 yards and seven touchdowns in the last four weeks of the season, including a combined 408 yards and six touchdowns in weeks 14 and 15.

As a result of his late-season explosion, the hype around Henry is real. Fantasy owners will be drafting him early with dreams of a workhorse fantasy back in their heads. Based on what we saw at the end of 2018 combined with a quote from new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith endorsing Henry’s skills, the Alabama product is going to get work.

Henry isn’t just a bruiser, either. After watching him torch the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 99-yard scamper for a score in Week 14, it’s clear Henry possesses breakaway speed to make big plays, as well as the power to pound the rock inside and earn plenty of goal line carries.

His only competition for carries is fellow back Dion Lewis, who is expected to handle most of the work in the passing game after a campaign in which many were puzzled by just how many carries he took from Henry.

The proof is in the pudding: Henry is on the verge of a breakout season and while he may only see a slight uptick in targets, his ability to take games over on the ground and score touchdowns is more than enough to rule him a great fit in any scoring system.
